Swamp of ice and snow (5)

During the past month of january, we had 1 week of real cold winter in Belgium with lots of snow and freezing temperatures down to -15°C in the southeastern part of the land.
I was there, enjoyed the winter and took some shots of course.

'Hohes Venn' is the greatest and oldest National Park of Belgium and the most unique nature biotope in the land (altitude: 694 meters above sea level) with a sub-alpine micro climate.
Under the great mass of snow lies a whole area of vast and desolate swamps.

10 minutes before I made this shot, a thick fog layer hung over the landscape.
Suddenly the sky broke open with dazzling cloud formations as result.

Location : Baraque Michel (Hohes Venn, Belgium)

Landscape and sky are obviously not building a plausible unit! It seems to be also that the sky is later beeing added. But the Hautes Fagnes is so nice for itself . . . it is not necessary to do like that! I beg your pardon, but more natural would be better . . . from my point of view!

Magnifique série sur les Hautes Fagnes qui a fait le bonheur des promeneurs et des skieurs !
J'aime beaucoup celle-ci pour son format, cadrage et le vent qui souffle et qui laisse des traces !

what a mystical winter mood! the sky – SO dynamic! in fact, the remaining fog clouds look both very cold, as though frozen, and very downy, as if a giant eider duck just passed across the sky, leaving some of the characteristic soft and fluffy fuzz in its wake! ; ) greetings, sabine.
