Enjoing soup and tea...

I always enjoy to be with Joanne and Gordon and have a nice chat together.

After our encounter with the fallow deer, we went back home, where we fortified ourselves with a delicious soup and tea with cookies in the garden. It was a relaxed, warm September day and in the afternoon we drove along the old military road A822 and along the River Almond through the wild and romantic Sma' Glen to Crieff. Crieff itself has lots of nice little cafes, so it's worth a stop here. The market town of Crieff, once famous for its large cattle market and the birthplace of actor Ewan McGregor, has a golf course and a number of attractions such as the Caithness Glass Visitor Center and The Famous Grouse Experience at the Glenturret Distillery just outside. Drummond Castle is also nearby. Its 15th-century tower house and 17th-century country house are unfortunately not open to the public, but the gardens worth seeing include the “best example of formal terraced gardens in Scotland”. But today we were out for much more mundane and everyday reasons. It was time for Gorden to visit his favorite hairdresser again.

Ich freue mich immer, mit Joanne und Gordon Zeit zu verbringen und nette Gespräche zu führen.

Nach unserer Begegnung mit dem Damwild ging es zurück nach Hause, wo wir uns im Garten bei einer leckeren Suppe und Tee mit Keksen stärkten. Es war ein entspannter, warmer Septembertag und am Nachmittag ging es über die alte Militärstraße A822 und entlang des Flusses Almond durch das wild-romantische Sma' Glen nach Crieff. Crieff selbst hat viele nette, kleine Cafés, so dass einen Stopp hier lohnt. Die Marktstadt Crieff, die früher für ihren großen Viehmarkt berühmt war und der Geburtsort des Schauspielers Ewan McGregors ist, hat einen Golfplatz und einige Sehenswürdigkeiten wie zum Beispiel das Caithness Glass Visitor Centre und The Famous Grouse Experience der etwas außerhalb gelegenen Glenturret Distillery. Auch das Drummond Castle befindet sich gleich in der Nähe. Dessen Wohnturm aus dem 15. Jahrhundert und das Landhaus aus dem 17. Jahrhundert sind leider nicht zu besichtigen, aber sehenswerte Garten beinhaltet das „bestes Beispiel für formelle Terrassengärten in Schottland“. Wir waren aber heute aus viel profaneren und alltäglichen Gründen unterwegs. Für Gorden war es mal wieder Zeit seinen Lieblingsfriseur aufzusuchen.
