Believers knee before the chedi to offer incense, flowers and candles before circumnavigating it three times on foot. It’s believed that anyone who does this on seven different occasions will enjoy a life of happiness and prosperity, perhaps explaining why That Phanom’s locals seem to be among the happiest we’ve come across in Thailand.

      Danke, liebe Anne, aber auch wir glauben sehr oft an Glücksbringer, wie z.B. mit Amuletten oder Fingerringe. Die Menschen in Thailand glauben sehr intensiv an die buddhistischen Gepflogenheiten, mit dessen Aufstieg ins bessere Leben und Glück in der Zukunft. Ob man es glaubt oder nicht, ist eine andere Frage und muss jeder mit sich selbst ausmachen. Liebe Grüße in die Schweiz und meine Wünsche für viel Glück Wolfgang
