Far away from the touristic routes we found at the Moquith Mountain after on hour touring with a Jeep through rough terrain pictographs of possible ancestors of the Hopi. Archaeologists call these people basketmaker. They lived on the marginal of the canyons of Utah. No one knows precisely what these pictographs represent. The age of the paintings is about 1600 years. Archaeologists realize that they are expressions of the life of the basketmaker.

Abseits der Touristenrouten fanden wir am Moquith Mountain nach einer Stunde Jeeptour durch unwegsames Gelände Wandmalereien möglicher Vorfahren der Hopi. Diese Gruppe wird von Archäologen Korbmacher genannt. Sie lebten an den Rändern der Canyons von Utah. Niemand genau weiß, was die Wandmalereien bedeuten. Das Alter der piktografischen Kunstwerke wird auf 1600 Jahre geschätzt. Archäologen sehen in ihnen den Ausdruck des Lebens der Korbmacher.
