WoooooooooooW !!! every when I visit Alnick castle the weather was bad or the funeral pyre for Halloween was there....

  The castle faces north here - away from the town - so you only get light on it very early, or very late in the day in summer.
  The Lion Bridge over the river is the best thing to photograph.

  It was about 8 p.m. in early June. Only "at the height of summer" does the sun shine on the north face of the castle. As a great student of the sun in the sky - you would appreciate that phenomenon. Mark.
