Hi Luuk!Officially, following EU directives, street photography Is forbidden here too. When I made inquiries about my legitimacy, I was told that 'art photography' is permitted. So far, there has been no police action against street photographers. Lithuanian has a strong street photography dimension. There are risks but being both cautious and responsible - choosing inoffensive subject matter - is the path to follow.
I'm impressed with the attitude of German photographers Siegfried Hansen who now calls himself an urban explorer. In conclusion, I feel the EU rule is questionable; the fact that it is not enforced here may reflect the option of the authorities. Whatever, maintaining caution on the street is always a priority. In seven years of walking around Kaunas, I have been questioning only once, an inquiry about why I photograph the streets rather than attracting the label, 'very naughty boy'.

Thanks for the inquiry, thanks for the good wishes and cheers from Kaunas.

Hi Graeme, Loved some of your street photos. I take there aren't the same sort of restrictions about photographing people as we have here in Germany?Graeme Allan 4. Mai 2024, 10:59

Grazie per il tuo supporto.Per me tutto bene.

Hi Allan, in Palermo (fortunately) the warm season continues, albeit with some thunderstorms here and there. So I got to test my new Canon 5D Mk IV in the rain.Congratulations for your photos, which are able to capture more interesting details and expressions of the people who transport us to the places in front of the lens of your camera.
A warm greeting
(Allan is the name?)
