Wow, It almost looks like a 300 year old Elder Oak, but the leaves are hard to make out. Your use of the tree is perfect. You are the Grand Canadian Druid. Hail and welcome. :) The woman in the shot with baby carriage balances out the image and offered a few stories.

wow, it looks HUGE! and it makes a great guardian for the young life that's voluntarily put itself at its mercy by choosing to sit on the bench at its foot! ; ) the fern growing in its vicinity even enhances that primeval forest look! great capture, adele! and what precious gems they are, those ancient veteran trees! hugs, sabine. p.s.: the bark – like an elephant's skin!!

Excellent: la robustesse, la puissance, l'immensité de ce tronc; et juste à côté, minuscule, l'apparente fragilité de cette mère et de son enfant. Le contraste est très fort, c'est comme un résumé de LA VIE. Bravo et bises.

da muß man ja fast vor Ehrfurcht erstarren. Wie alt er wohl sein mag? Die ältesten Mammutbäume sollen ja bis zu 3000 Jahre alt sein. Unvorstellbar und bewundernswert sind auch ihre Überlebensstrategien..
