This beats any sunset anyday!
The picture shows Noctilucent Clouds captured from the top of a hill 3 km from my home in Ringsted, Denmark.
Noctilucent clouds are ice-crystals in altitudes of 70-90km that reflects the sunlight when the sun has a certain position below the horizon.
In Denmark we can usually observe the phenomena during June and July a couple of hours before the sun gets up in the morning or after it sets in the evening... this is by the way my first sighting after I became aware of the phenomena.
The picture was taken on 21-Jul-2009 just before midnight (approxemately 2 hours after sunset). The panorama covers the horizon all the from west all the way to north-east.
The pictures (10 of them) was stiched together using the Photomerge Panorama function in Photoshop Elements 7.0
Camera: Canon EOS 500D
Lens: Tamron AF 28-300 F/3.5-6.3 XR Di
Focal lenth: 28mm @ F3.5
Exposure: 6 seconds, ISO200
I hope you like it.

Ein prachtvolles Panorama, aber ob der Titel so stimmt? Es gibt auch andere Sunsets, die sicher nicht weniger schön sind...Dennoch, dieses Panorama begeistert mich!!!

I totally agree!Hmm... The file I uploaded was 2333x640 pixels, so Its a bit disapointing that it ended up only being only 1000x275 pixels. If somebody could tell me how to change that i would be happy :-)
