The studs and bolts that are holding up the machine to the fundation have been chopped off to be ready for a further removal shortly, maybe towards the scrapyard. There is no room for this winding engine within the refurbishing plans and the new purpose for the building as stated the council's major on the newspapers last week.
It seems the winding engine came over from Germany as long there is a marking on the brakes supporting beams with the word "Hoesch".
