Last Crepe Myrtle Blossom of Summer

Torrential late summer storms had all but wiped out the voluminous red blossoms (*) of my neighbors' red crepe myrtle tree, which had been subject of many late afternoon golden hour photos in the last few weeks. But I returned to it more recently, as I familiarized myself with a newly acquired early Helios 44 58mm f/2 13-blade KMZ film-era lens, acting as an equivalent 93mm (in 35mm film/full-frame digital terms) mild-tele on my crop-sensor D-SLR.

If this wasn't the "last" blossom left, it most certainly was the only one proudly
and pluckily holding forth in the late afternoon golden sunlight a few days ago.

It was shot with the Helios at full aperture for maximum selective
focus and display of the bokeh characteristic of these lenses.
