Some city quarters have their own geography. Even their own legal state approval. But and what is more important, through time they ended by enjoying also a certain level of moral tolerance by many others that few years ago pushed them away as toxic rejects obeying to an "infallible" integrity of ethics and tradition...

: ) the sign above the door – "i love you(,) shop!" missing a comma, but otherwise the perfect speech bubble expressing the not-so-secret thoughts of the man presently window-shopping… ; )) to taboo and criminalize the oldest profession in the world and the milieu surrounding it probably makes it go notorious and flourish even more, i think, as all things forbidden and condemned usually tend to do! great shot and treatment, alexander! love how our attention is drawn to the doorstep, where sunshine meets ocean and naked toe – temptation, thy name is threshold! ; ) greetings, sabine.

here in the Warmoestraat....
it actually is a beautiful part of the city with lots of canals in the area...
and yes..it must be tolerated if..people are not forced to work in this industry....

really good the way the colorful exhibits in the window stand out against the silver grey shop fronts.Makes it look very interesting. If I remember correctly (30 years ago!!!!)there used to be a really good fish shop here with every conceivable catch of the sea on offer.cathy
