The snow covered Gurla Mandhata (Memo Nanyi) peak (7728 m) in background.
According to Hindu tradition it was Brahma himself who created Manasarovar and the divine Jambu tree which, though invisible to human eyes, grow in its centre. … Due to the fruits of this divine tree, the waters of Manasarovar are turned into a life-giving elixir.
Seralung was rebuilt in 1984 after its destruction during the Chinese culture revolution. It is located on the right side of a small valley near a spring.
The gompa can be a small monastery or a simple meditation center.

My picture is taken in May 2004 with a NIKON CoolPix 5000.
