The Minceta Tower on the Northern Fortress of the old Dubrovnik ..

Dubrovnik is a stunningly intact walled city on the Adriatic Sea coast of the extreme south of Croatia. Although its population barely exceeds 40,000, it's one of the most prominent tourist resorts of the Mediterranean and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
Dubrovnik was built on maritime trade. In the Middle Ages it became the only city-state in the Adriatic to rival Venice. It still has a prominent seaport, but tourism is the main industry, and the old part of Dubrovnik has the nickname "Pearl of the Adriatic".

L'un des très beaux coup d'oeil d'Europe. Une ville aux vestiges magnifiques à laquelle ta photo et son cadrage rendent parfaitement justice. On en oublie (presque) les combats horribles qui ont eu lieu dans la région.

Yes, Adele, Ragouza together with Agona showed well their teeth to Venice in the Adriatic for a considerable period.Excellent shot of the fortress over the town and the menacing sky adds a lot.

Eine ganz beeindruckende Anlage und ein wundervoller Blick. Hattest einen sehr guten Aufnahme standpunkt gewählt! Beeindruckend ist auch das Wolkenbild und das Licht...
Ich musste in der Schule auch noch "Ragusa" lernen - den alten Namen...

Ein Rundgang über die 1940 Meter lange Stadtmauer von Dubrovnik ist ein besonderes Erlebnis. Die Schlacht um Dubrovnik ging einher mit der Zerstörung zahlreicher ziviler Ziele. Sie sind heute zumeist wieder aufgebaut und an den karminroten Dächern erkennbar.
