45562 Alberta at Dillicar Troughs

This shot was taken in 1967 and features ex-LMS Jubilee Class No. 45562 "Alberta". The train is an enthusiasts special "The South Yorkshireman" and it is taking water from Dillicar water troughs, just south of Tebay on the West Coast Main Line between London and Glasgow.

This shows the magic that was once steam driven.

Very nice view with that cloud of steam. Black and white is very suitable for such a train.
It seems to me that there is the typical canal between the rails, where the running locomotive "shovels" water into the tender. It looks like an overflow of water at the end of the locomotive.
    Best regards, Thomas.

    Classic shot in classic location!

BTW: a little more text would be very suitable for all those users here who don´t know so well...
Jugded by the number 45562 must be an ex-LMS "Jubilee" Class, right? And when did you take the shot? Must be the sixties - at least!

    Please more of those!!

    LG Tom
