These shoes were made for walking
Civil war re-enactment, Hale Farm and Village, Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Didn't have time to stay for the battle so my daughter and I were trying to capture portraits.
This gentleman was actually walking around barefoot, I guess he was trying to save his soul !

don't know why, but my first thought was: "he has contemporary eyes!" ; ) for some reason i detect amusement, mischief, the urge to laugh, yet fighting it for the sake of his part and to not break character. my guess would be he's having a smart phone hidden in one of his boots and feeling mighty clever about it… no, can't touch this! ; )) the lively eyes – they make it a mesmerizing portrait! greetings, sabine.BGW-photo 5.
