The Living Forest (428) : Jersey Tiger
The Jersey tiger is a moth that flies both in the daytime, when it can be found feeding on various flowers, as well as at night, when it is attracted to light.
The main flight period is july to september.
This species occurs in Europe from the Mediterranean coast to west Russia, Asia Minor, the Near East, the Caucasus, south Turkmenistan and Iran.
In Belgium however, it’s a rather rare appearance.

German name : Russische Bär (auch Spanische Flagge genannt)
Latin name : Euplagia quadripunctaria quadripunctaria
