New York | Fourth of July |
The Lower Falls of Enfield Creek are the well known attraction of Robert E. Treman State Park near Ithaca, NY.
The natural pool below the falls is one of the most beautiful places for swimming I have seen so far.
However, this year, being there on Independence Day, it was totally overcrowded.
We had just space for a towel anywhere.
Unfortunately the thermometer hit the unusual hundreds this day, so I considered it to risky to climb the trail up along the gorge.
Second: a few times all swimmers were called out of the water. Snake alarm!

Eine schöne Kulisse und sicher das beste was man bei heißem Wetter tun kann. Für mich sind dort allerdings zu viele Menschen. :-)))Gr.Manu

A great image of the crowd and falls. The snakes will usually leave people alone, it is the inadvertent touch of one by a swimmer that will get them bit. Looks like fun!Regards, Archie

Snake alarm !! Love it :-) I remember the effect of suspected sharks off Cape Cod...So funny, with these 4 elevated seats for life guards ! They really play it safe.
