Frisia | Fedderwardersiel |
For centuries the people of Frisia have wrested land from the Wadden Sea and protected it with dikes. So-called "Siele" (passages) lead the water from the drainage channels through the dikes into the North Sea, but do not let seawater into the interior. Often the passage was combined with a lock and a port. These small harbors, still operating for shrimp boats, are popular destinations today.
Yesterday it was hot and we made a short trip to Fedderwardersiel to catch a cooler breeze.

Die beschwingten Linien von Bordwand und Krabbennetzschwimmern sind ein feines Grundgerüst für den Bildaufbau. Gefällt mir.VG Richard
