First Snow on "The Lions"

"The Lions" are two peaks of ca. 1600m height and a prominent landmark of Vancouver. They used to be called "The Sisters" and had great spiritual value to the indigenous people. The name was changed in 1890 due to the peaks' resemblance to sleeping lions.
The sun last weekend revealed that it had been snowing on the mountains while it rained in town. It looks glorious up there, but the peaks are not skiable.
Taken from the parking lot of my local shopping mall, just 5 min. away.

exceptional! sometimes nature plays with distances and contrasts....you capture perfect this "game"!
I really like the shadows of birds, make a great "plus" of composition!

Das Bild, so fantastisch es ist, gibt mir Rätsel auf. Ich sehe zunächst bereits mit Schnee überzogene Berge und eine dunkelgelbe Seitenfront eines Hauses.Davor bildet sich offenbar tatsächlich eine elektrische Leitung ab. Eventuell eine Antenne in die weite Welt. Darauf scheint auch ein Vogel, vielleicht auch zwei tatsächlich abgebildet zu sein.Der Rest, so meine ich, sind Schatten einer weiteren elektrischen Leitung mit den darauf sitzenden Vögeln.
Wie auch immer, eine großartige Idee, die kalt anmutenden Berge hinter der gelben Wand mit den Schattenbildern abzubilden

You are living in a very beautiful sourrounding!
It is good to see the first signs of winter.
Over here it is still too warm, but very wet.. I really hate it ;-(((

What amazing peaks those lions are! I wonder how deep the snow is up there?! I love the painted crows on the yellow wall, it really brings them out.
