im sehr populären Melbourne Central Complex an der Ecke La Trobe- und Elizabeth Street.

1991 wurde das sehr moderne Gebäude, dessen Inneres den alten Shot Tower beherbergt, mit großem Pomp eröffnet.
Die Uhr hängt gegenüber des Shot Tower und öffnet sich zu jeder vollen Stunde und spielt dabei die Musik des Liedes Waltzing Mathilda.

In den letzten drei Jahren wurde das Gebäude umgebaut, renoviert und die Uhr hing verpackt mitten im Baustaub.
Bei unserem Einkaufsbummel im Januar, konnten wir sie uns wieder ansehen. Noch etwas leicht verstaubt sah sie aus und sie spielte auch einige Minuten verspähtet.
So, dass einige der Touristen die sich das Spektakel ansehen wollten, schon gegangen waren.

@Wolfgang,
bei der Renovierung wurde einiges verändert, auch den Ballon mit dem Brautpaar und den Flieger im Shot Tower gibt es nicht mehr.

Sehr schönes Foto, Helga, und wie immer eine lesenswerte Info dazu. Auf Hartmuts Foto geht die Uhrenkette allerdings bis oben an die Decke; scheint hier anders zu sein.
