Formerly the Red House was a monastery now is owned and run by a warm Thakali extended family. The landlady is related to the Mustang king. All this family give a warm atmosphere in this guest house and travelers like to keep this in their best memories.

(The Thakalis speak a language related to but distinct from Tibetan, and are known for their entrepreneurial skills as traders and hoteliers.)
