High Bridge Through the forest
Taken in Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota. This is a footbridge over a feeder creek that flows into Lake Itasca whose outlet is the headwaters of the Mississippi River. As it begins its journey of about 2,500 miles the Mississippi is about 30 ft wide , or a little over 9 meters, at this point.

It is very quiet and cool in the tall pine forests of this park.Richard Thorkildson 3. Oktober 2012, 4:41

Thanks for the comments. You can see the feeder creek through the bridge rails on the left side about 4-5 feet into the bridge opening.Glenn Capers 2. August 2012, 8:24

I never knew things like could be in Minnesota. The walkway is exposed well . Good balance of light and shade.Ken Piros 27. Juli 2012, 12:31
