I was at the amazing Winter Palace - now the Hermitage Museum with a busload of tourists ... for each photo I stayed behind and tried to capture the architecture without people ... no flash used :-)

Absolutely incredible that you had this 1:1000000 chance to pick extactly this tiny fraction of a second when no other people were around....
When we were in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad) I refused to visit the Ermitage after having seen the huge busloads of people queuing to get in...

so festive and glamorous looking, and so very cool in its white and blue ambience – the name "winter palace" suits this room/pavillion well! love, how the crystal chandeliers are dangling down from the ceiling like drops of ice! a beautiful photo series of a place one now desperately longs to visit!! truly amazing that you succeeded in capturing it in this seemingly deserted, tourist-less ; ) and calm state!! hugs, sabine.
