This particular picture was a result of using a 50mm film camera lens back to front and attached via an adapter ring to the Canon 50D. Focusing, aperture and shutter speed etc., all have to be done manually as communication between camera and lens is lost. The result is a 'macro' effect. Meticulously time consuming but far cheaper than buying a macro lens!
