I agree with Dennis Maloney's comments about the back streets.

This is a fine example of the daily life of most people; not just in this country but all over the world.

Sehr schön diese Hausfront im Viertel der wohl ärmeren Bevölkerung festgehalten. Aber so ist es oft in diesen Ländern.

A good documentary picture,Adele, of a maybe different but surely existing in all big cities side of life, especially in those with a great history as Alexandria.This city had a thriving Greek population in early 20th century and in several of its quarters, old houses in decline like the one in your picture may be of Greek origin. In any case, I rather tend to agree with Sabine's opinion that it's not always all that miserable or offending to to bring such things in the open, in the oposite many times can prove a colorful , picturesque and very live side of life...

Ja wenn man keine andere Möglichkeit zur Wäschetrocknung hat. Sonne und Wärme gibt es ja meistens in Alexandria. Wind auch wie man am aufgeblasenen Pullover - oder ist es eine Kutte - sehen kann.

This is a good one. Amazing how many green shutters there are in the middle east. Ant the dirty yellow walls are everywhere. Good shot showing the state of disrepair of this building.
