Michael Schoenrock, born in 1962, was too young to become a beatnik, but the 70s and good old classic rock music left a mark on him. In the mid 70s he became a rock singer himself in a couple of local bands in the area of Wiesbaden in Germany. Not that this is really important, but it is the start of being creative and being an artist for him.
His early contact with photography started around 1980 with a Nikon F3 and Kodakchrome and lasted for a couple of years only.
After a career in the IT industry, the desire to express himself artistically started again around 2008.
Since then, Michael has explored a few different themes, of which the most important ones are represented here in this portfolio.
His extensive traveling allowed him to bring back landscape, city and a nice selection of black and white pictures from all across the world.
Michaels very unique view of the world is best expressed in his impressionistic series of spaceship and aqua, where reality meets the fantasy of the photographer.
Painting with light or catching the right light rays are metaphors often used by photographers. For Michael it is more than that: it is the deeply felt emotion while being at a certain location in a specific moment and the knowledge, that this moment will never be there again and the picture composed by technique, emotion and light can never be taken again.
Enabling photography lovers to enjoy that same emotion, when looking at his pictures, is actually the true motivation for Michael.
