I think he is regal and I love how you framed him. I like flat depth of field and intentionally do it when I photograph animals. It appears to me that the quality is more a resolution issue rather than sharpness. But the picture that Peter points to is very nice, but the photographer had another one that I though would have been better to show his point.
Hope they are taking good care of you there.
Still find the bird very pretty, and yes it does make a difference in the wild or in the Zoo :)))

@Jo - I agree with you concerning the water but the pelican is not sharp enough, sorry.
