Skylight 1A 1B Myth

Today something very different. I lived over 30 years with the „knowledge" there are two kinds of Skylight filters, 1A and 1B, the 1B beeing „stronger“ than the 1A. When you search the internet, you will find excactly this information.
I got an used Hoya Skylight 1B yesterday. I already own a 1A. Surprisingly when placed next to each other, the 1A is DARKER then the 1B and has MORE tint. What is that?
Luckily the old box with the filter contains the original papers from maybe 40 years ago, perhaps 50, judging from the layout?
And there it is, the explanaition: 1A and 1B got nothing at all to do with the strength of the effect, rather, the 1B is simply a newer version of the same filter with slightly tweaked transmission curve.
Another example you cannot trust information from the internet, especially when it comes to things from the days before the internet. The common information that can be found is just wrong.
