the annoying factor to bring the left side (which is about 10cm farer away than the right) in focus is done on purpose. (and with a 60mm macrolens) It's simply the opposite of the "normal expected".

I am not sure if I understand the content. The left side of the image is in focus and the right side is less sharp.
In my opinion it is a bit annoying to look at. Also, this could be taking anywhere in the World, so I am missing the point why it is in the section "World" versus "Abstract" as example.
