Impressions

[pinhole]

In an attempt to create impressionistic photographs I turned an old lenscap and some aluminum foil into a pinhole plate, with multiple pinholes.
For this picture I punched 5 holes in a straight line, 1mm apart, and placed the cap on my camera body with the holes in a vertical direction. The overlapping images give the impressionistic effect I was aiming for.

Canon F1n, 40mm @ F90, 2sec. exposure on Kodak Portra 160NC

@Detlef: sounds a bit like how Chris Harris (who inspired me) took his shot, although he closed his lens between the displacements.
I'd like to see your result, didn't find it in your portfolio.

Cool way to produce such an interesting effect Robert ! I like this...
I have done similar effects ...each always turn out different which is usually the fun of fooling around. How I do this is by long exposure and moving the camera ( on tripod of course) up and down vertically.
You are very creative Robert ! Keep up the good work !

Lovely Robert. Pinhole is the best.

OK, I will upload some more of this later. It might take a while to come across the right subject for what I have in mind but the plate is in my bag...
    Greetings, Robert

    thanks for dropping by :-)

I was inspired by a certain photograph made by Chris Harris where he did multiple shots on one frame with a slight vertical displacement between each exposure. When I looked through the manual of my camera to see how to do multiple exposures I thought why not make a pinhole plate with multiple holes to get the same effect.
A search on the internet didn't reveil anything useful on multiple pinholes so I rolled up my sleeves and dug into it myself.

This picture is sort of a trial to get the exposure right and see if it works at all. My plan is to use the technique on forests and flowers and build up a small collection of "specialties".
