Hebridean Tour: Sgoth Niseach - Ness Fishing Boat (reload)
This is perhaps the last of its kind that was built according to a fisherman we got chatting to in Ness harbour. He said his father built it is the 1940s and though small is very sturdy - what you need in the rough waters off Ness.
Update: See Maguire's corrected information below.
Vielleicht das letzte gebaute Exemplar dieses Fischerboots laut dem netten alten Fischer am Hafen von Ness. Sein Vater hat das besonders seetüchtige kleine Fischerboot in den Vierzigern gebaut.
Reload after a tip from/nach einem Tipp von Robyn Raggio

Someone was spinning you a yarn. The last full size Sgoth Niseach (Ness Boat) to be built 'An Sulaire' was built by Master Boat Builder, John Murdo Macleod in 1994. The whole story can be found on www.ansulaire.com . But John Mordo has also built many half size Sgoth Niseach also.. of which the boat above is an example.. though perhaps not built by him.Another.. the Jubilee was built by JM's grandfather, is moored in Stornoway harbour and was restored during 2005 by boatbuilders in Ullapool.
Great photograph.
