Thank you all.....I'll see what I can do with the blend of the hair. It turns out that when I applied the overlay to the filter it essentially removed her hair, which was very beautiful....and substituted the textured brown...but also leaving some of the curls at the top. Your comments have given me some additional fodder for the picture grist/mill/whatever I do thing.....

This one gives me strong "aquatic" impressions ... perhaps because the pastel shades suggest watercolor, but also because of some of the shapes and reflections that one could find around a pond. I "see" this as an illustration of a magical character in a fantasy novel (I don't know how that idea sits with the artist, but what I mean is that it harkens back to the rich heritage of illustrations in books BEFORE the pernicious influence of video and movies). I find that all the elements work together toward a single impression; for me it happens to involve water nymphs :)

I think I agree with the hair at the left side. The portion which looks like it needs to be broken up a little is that block that connects to the edge of the page. Perhaps if it had a lighter tint?

But, yes, love this pic. The colors are perfect (almost a bit Klimt, must be the browns), placement of the model perfect.

It's a nice portrait with a soft and beautiful water painting effect. A new style , I enjoy a lot, bye VS

I like the overall look of this one. The hair on the left side is not to m liking though. Maybe a bit more blended or different "strokes" in that area.
