Crohy Head Sea Arch

Ireland's 'wild northwest' in County Donagal probably offers a lot more than we got in on our week-long trip. Given the multitude of possible motifs on the island, we were - in retrospect - far too short here. For me this picture is a highlight. Also because of the experience of being able to photograph this: We parked our car about 2 km away (at the outskirts of Maghery) and then had to hike a bit. The descent down the cliff to the sea involved a little climbing. Luckily someone had put a rope here. We then explored the bay for about an hour - climbing over the stones - until we were able to decide on a photo spot. I chose this perspective because a small headland can be seen through the Sea Arch. A detail that will unfortunately hardly be noticed at 19mm. We then photographed there for about two hours until it was dark. I combined three shots together for this picture because when the light in the sky became good, the water had already receded a lot. Unfortunately, when the light fell most beautifully on the rocks, the sky was completely cloudless. So think of this image as a quintessence of a two hour photo session.
