Castle Annevoie (Belgium)

In 1627 a modest land house was built on this spot.
The house was enlarged and remodelled with new added wings, a century later.
The result is this elegant classical ‘chateau’ in Condrusian style that we can still admire nowadays.

The castle is however not the main attraction of this site.
The domain is more famous for its beautiful water gardens, the only one of this kind in Belgium.
They are inspired on renowned Italian and French gardens of that time with numerous gargoyles, fountains, canals and lots of statues reflecting in peaceful ponds (see picture below).
