Connolly is jammed unfortunately. It is currently being re-signalled which will increase the paths but not by nearly enough. The link below is the plan. It was a victim of the financial crash but may be about to be considered again. Finnie

Yes, the Phoenix Tunnel, the link between the harbour and the east coast line and the rest of the network!
If Conolly has surplus tracks and paths to offer, passenger traffic through the tunnel to the west could save time for passengers avoiding the long way from towncentre to Heuston station...

That's the IWT Liner, running between Dublin North Wall (the port) and Ballina on the west coast, 6 days a week. Runs under the Phoenix Park, a tunnel that hopefully will be used for passenger services in the not too distant future
