The Middle Ages (100) : Combat instructor
This series is an attempt to illustrate how life was going on in the Middle Ages.
When a knight was too old to go to war and to fight, then the best of them became combat instructor to train new candidate knights.
The inscription 'aede regi' on his helmet means 'the temple of the King' and was exclusively reserved for meritorious ex-crusaders.

Great shot of this armoured knight. I think maneuvering in that metal outfit must've been quite an effort. So strange and colourful this part of history was, yet, I believe it must've been difficult times to live in tooDeryck

Oh, er sieht ganz großartig aus!!! Und da die Ausbildung der Knappen ja sehr wichtig war, genoss so ein Ausbilder sicher immer noch großes Ansehen!
