Nam Xong river near Pha Tang in northern Laos

The Nam Xong River is a small river in Laos that flows through the town of Vang Vieng. It is a popular tourist destination as many people enjoy seeing the Laotian countryside while going down the river in the inner tube of a tractor tyre or in a kayak. The river is surrounded by striking karst rock formations.

Danke an alle Kommentatoren, ich möchte hinzufügen und zitiere aus "Rock'n Row Thailand":
75 million years ago, the limestone was pushed upwards form the sea bed by the pressure of the movements of the worlds plates. This is a similar effect to the formation of mountains.

Die Felsformationen von Guilin in China, Halong in Nord-Vietnam, in Laos und bis in den Süden nach Phuket und Phang Nga haben alle den selben Ursprung der vor 75 Mill. Jahren entstanden ist.

Diese Aufnahme erinnert mich stark an die Karstberge in Guilin, im Nordosten Guangxi, am Li-Fluss.

Schon viel von gehört, offenbar nicht zu unrecht - ist wirklich eine Traumkulisse mit den Karstfelsen im Hintergrund.
