Vickie, I understand your feelings. Though I also think that you shouldn't feel ashamed of your country. You can take such photos here too. I.e. at the markets where they sell hares, deers and other hunter's victims.So in this sense we're as little 'civilized' as you!
These animals get shot (and they have to be shot in order to avoid an over-population too) here and there and everywhere.

Willkommen, Mario!I am deeply sad that this shocking picture comes from Greece, my country. Unfortunately Greece has still a long way to go before it can be considered a really civilised country. No matter if it belongs to the EU, some things are still as they were in the Dark Ages.
I personally feel ashamed for this picture (not the photo, Mario, your photo is fine, I only mean the picture, that is what the photo shows).
