Housing of a Mon family

A simple hut on floating bamboo trees is home to many Mon families who live off fishing from Khao Laem Dam. Predominantly Asian carp and snakehead catch the Mon fishermen and bring them fresh to the markets in Sangklaburi and the surrounding villages.
Like the Thais, the Mon are predominantly Buddhist and also live on rice cultivation, but they also have a strong animistic belief.
