Just 90 miles north of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Ketchikan hugs the bluffs that form the shoreline along the southwest corner of Revillagigedo Island. Stretching 31 miles long but never more than 10 blocks wide, Ketchikan is centered on Tongass Avenue. On one side of the avenue, many businesses and homes are built on stilts out over the water, while on the other side they cling to the steep slopes and often have winding wooden staircases leading to their doors. Das sieht doch ganz nett aus, würde ich gern mal im Winterzustand sehen, ob da dann drei Metter Schnee liegen.

  danke, lieber Ernst August .... hier herrscht eigentlich sehr gemaessigtes Klima, da die Stadt vom Pazifik beeinflusst wird...I quote:
  the climate here is mild, and generally warm and temperate. There is significant rainfall throughout the year in Ketchikan. Even the driest month still has a lot of rainfall. The average annual temperature is 6.0 °C in Ketchikan. Precipitation here is about 3365 mm per year.

Cette vue plongeante sur la ville est très réussie . Ton angle de prise de vue orienté sur l'angle de l'immeuble crée une saisissante profondeur d'image qui entraîne notre regard alternativement vers la gauche et la droite puis vers les collines verdoyantes et boisées de l'arrière plan .

Sehr shön zwischen all den bewaldeten Erhebungen liegt der Ort - die Farben der Fassaden bringen auch Farbe in die gelungene Aufnahme! VG! a.

Jolie plongée sur le cœur de la ville entourée de forêts. C'est une ville aux mille couleurs qui doit, en hiver, ressortir encore plus avec la neige.

Une plongée très intéressante sur cette ville moderne aux blocs d'immeubles juxtaposés et placés selon un plan plus ou moins "rationnel" pour l'inscrire près des forêts qui précèdent les hauts reliefs montagneux. Tu montres très bien le site général, et les détails de l'immeuble principal à double façade en coin, tu en as placé l'angle au bon endroit de ton cadrage pour qu'on voie les rues de part et d'autre, l'animation, les véhicules : une photo-documentaire descriptive très réussie, lumière et couleurs la rendent vivante! Compliments pour ta qualité d'image reconnaissable entre toutes, Adele! Bises à toi, belle journée! Michèle

From this point of view in my impression Ketchikan looks like other small cities in the north of Canada or USA. Interesting to see, that there are busses, which remind me of the tram in Lissabon. A good overview of the city.
