Black-headed Gull

If all good nesting places in the reedbeds and tiny islands in the lake are fully occupied, you have to go somewhere else to make a nest, like this stump in the adjacent woodland f.e.

Location : Nature reserve ‘Molsbroek’ at Lokeren (Belgium)

Dutch name : Kokmeeuw
German name : Lachmöwe
Latin name : Chroicocephalus ridibundus (previous Larus ridibundus)

Great! These two were looking for a private spot for there little home :-) You captured them fantastically. I would have been tempted to crop the picture a bit tighter, but I think you got much better results in this way

Ein interessantes Foto, Mark. Brütende Lachmöwen habe ich so noch nicht gesehen. Da hast du dich schön leise rangepirscht. Ein richtig schönes Familienfoto in bester Qualität. Gut gemacht, Mark.
