It was an industrial branch to the colliery you can see on the background. Through this bridge the trains went to the washery to load coal. This branch is out of order from 1993 when the colliery was decommissioned and the washery scraped. The main line is a narrow gage one; known as ferrocarril de Langreo in spanish, It was the 3rd railway to be built in Spain on the late 19th century to bring the coal, the iron ore and the steel from this narrow valleys to the be shipped in the vessels at the habour named by Gijon.
