Contourz Ballet Photography

Welcome, I am Daniel, the photographer behind Contourz Photography. My work is dedicated to capturing ballet in its purest and most expressive form. After spending more than 30 years on stage, I developed a strong understanding of movement, alignment, precision and emotional presence. Today, I bring that experience into my photographic work, focusing on dancers who convey strength, elegance and individuality.

My specialty is ballet photography with a modern and minimal aesthetic. I work mainly with professional ballerinas, creating visual concepts that highlight form, intention and personality. A photograph for me is not simply a visual record of a pose, it is a moment shaped by dedication, physical control and artistic character.

I travel frequently throughout Europe and beyond, often working in cities such as Berlin, Paris, Rome, London, New York and Sydney. I enjoy collaborating with dancers who are technically strong and artistically expressive, dancers who tell a story through movement and presence in front of the camera.

Each shooting is carefully planned and designed. The location, lighting and style are chosen individually. In many sessions we work with simple, classic leotards, because they emphasize clarity, body lines and expression in a subtle and timeless way. Whether in studios, open urban environments or historic settings, I aim to create photographs that feel authentic, focused and artistically meaningful.
