Hello, my name is Oliver Scheffer.
Born in 1973 in Duesseldorf, Germany I attended the Catholic primary school “Unter den Eichen”, then the grammar school “Städtisches Gymnasium Gerresheim” a.k.a. “Poth”.
Following my A levels I studied law in Frankfurt/Main and Duesseldorf. After my First state examination I was a law clerk for two years at the Land court Duesseldorf. I finalised this service with the Second state examination at the LJPA. Ever since I work as a legal advisor for a business organisation.
My first earnest brush with photography I had in art education in grammar school. We learned darkroom technique which inspired me to build my own darkroom. For some time I took photographs with a mechanical SLR from Yashica, in 1991 a Minolta Dynax/Maxxum 7xi followed that went along with me for many years.
I entered the digital era rather late in 2006 with a Canon Powershot A620, followed by an entry-level D-SLR. Currently I’m shooting with a semi-pro Sony A580 D-SLR. My decision for the Sony brand was an easy one considering the compatibility with serveral parts of my Minolta gear.
I’m generally interested in most sujets bar people photography except for events. Besides photography I’m an avid cyclist – race bike and MTB – and exercise athletic sports.
