Some 25 km from Cologne, Germany, there are enourmous excavations to gain coal. This work is done by excavator-monsters, which are up to 160 m high. In 1985, two of these machines had to move through the landscape to start a new hole. This was a rare oportunity to come close. There is an indication for the scale: between the metal tank-tracks in the background a small motor can be seen. Unfortunately the foto is very poor, but the theme itself is unique, so I decided to publish
