Osorezan

Mount Osore (Osore-zan) is a temple and miniature wasteland in the middle of the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, Japan.

The rather somber Osorezan Taisai festival is held between July 20-24.
During the festival, traditional mediums known as "itako", traditionally all blind women (today many are not blind), channel the spirits of dead people (kuchiyose) to relatives.

Die recht düstere Feier "Osorezan Taisai" findet hier jedes Jahr zw. 20.-24 Juli statt. Während dieser Feier verhelfen Mediume (Spiritismus), die traditionell immer blinde Frauen waren (aber heutzutage auch es nicht sind).
Diese sollen die Seelen der Toten verhelfen den Weg zu Verwandten zu finden.
