This picture was taken at the Clarno Unit of John Day Fossils Bed National Monument. It shows the well known "Palisades". In this area a lot of petrified plants and animals were found, which leads to the assumption, that back then this land was rich of plants and animals.

the "castle thought" popped up in my mind, too, the minute i spotted this bizarrely beautiful rock formation… so i'm keeping quiet, and, speaking with hamlet – even though this is clearly no elsinore –, "the rest is silence!" ; ) greetings, sabine.

Nature is such an amazing creator .... a great impression of these rock formations with the vibrant blue sky overhead and inclusion of the local plantlife.

The forms in the rocks do indeed look like a castle. Good use of the fg giving wonderful height to the rocks :-)
