shot in the middle of the day - I think so for the short shadows.. Because light was probably quite hard it's been a good idea to place his face in shade. I think the photo would work better if he had some more space to the left (landscape-format). I like his attitude and his eyes.

Yes, same title 2 very different images. Yours is touching, Mine on the other hand appears to be quite superficial by comparison. But it is still about loneliness in a sense...
