Hello to you ALL!!!
Most of you are aware that I returned to Perth a week ago, but have been running around.
I would like to dedicate this photograph to two wonderful friends of mine.
Hannes und Waltrud Pichler.
They have been very special friends for over twenty years, they arrived from Austria and we met soon after.
Yesterday we were entertained by these very kind and caring friends Hannes fetched us first and took us for a drive around a couple of local rivers to take some pictures...
In the evening while Hannes tweaked my laptop, Waltrud prepared a scrumptious Austrian meal for us. (LEKKER, LEKKER Ja-Ja)
We were also fed on wonderful cakes, which Waltrud had freshly baked using Macadamia nuts from her garden.
To end off the perfect day, we were taken to Kings Park to view the city lights.
Our thanks go out to you Hannes und Waltrud, for a splendid time, Bless you both!!!
The bloom I have chosen, is one we saw whilst walking about with Hannes, is native to my birth place!!
It is a South African Coral tree, (Kaffirboom)
Erythrina caffra,
Family: Faboideae
It is a rather large tree and produces beautiful black eyed scarlet coloured seeds, which are called lucky beans.
Our best wishes to you all and Dankeschön Hannes und Waltrud.
Viele Grüße,
eine tolle aufnahme von einer sehr interessanten blüte!
finde die farben einfach klasse!
gefällt mir sehr!
es ist schön zu hören, dass ihr so viel spaß habt :-))
liebe grüße

That sounds like a absolulty perfect day - caring friends, beautiful landscape, 'lecker' food (including austrian baking - they are famous for!) and back in the 'Heimat' - and friends in the fc all over the world to share it with - what could you wish more?
You are a lucky guy and it's surly not necessary to tell you to be aware of moments like this and relish them in their wholeness.
And what a beautifull blossom!
Thanks for a view and story like this in the morning!

Hi John
Greetings from Hambach.
Good to hear you arrived savely at home.
But I doubt you stay for long if you truley stick to your penname Walk about John.
Wonderful flower picture.
Fine pic with contrasted colours.
Glad to have such special friends. I know the feeling from having a special friend like that - Melvyn from good old England now living in Serik, Turkey, most of the year when he isn't with his family in New Zealand.
Hi Stranger, I saw your picture by accident and just remembered a similar tree in my home town
Mönchengladbach in a botanical garden. Is it the same ??? . Best wishes
