Hej!

If you happen to be in Hamburg you might want to check out my photos @ Urban Outfitters (Gänsemarkt 45), which we put up yesterday.

Every day you face the same problem: Which camera should I take along today?
Between all different kinds of Polaroid and medium format cameras, the Pouva has its place; small, basic and uncomplicated, no unnecessary features, that’s all it is and all it needs to be. Its charm is the imperfection and ‘reality’ of the photos, it is capable of and which might be seen as Holga-esque.
Born and grown up in Kreuzberg, Berlin, the urban environment is Rio’s medium and inspiration, leading to start taking photos in 2002. At the beginning he was just playing around with a digital camera, by now replaced by analogue cameras for quite a few years.
His studies brought him to Sweden where he experienced beautiful nature, but living there made even clearer how much of a city person he is in terms of photography.
Moving to Paris allowed him to jump back and dive into a pulsating sea of grey, dust, noise, (street) art and much more sensual stimulations.

This is what POUVARIS is:
Paris + six months + his Pouva = six photos

Everybody knows Paris and different things, thoughts and feelings are connected to the heart of France, so this should be seen as one of many views, simply his interpretation of urban life.
